Sensei Marcel is one of our teachers with a very diverse background and a very colourful history. He is proficient in many martial arts and in many different sports making him all rounder. Before becoming a teacher and coach in sports and martial arts, he joined the Malaysian Military as an Army Ranger. He has also held position as a journalist for Star newspaper and was a logistic consultant  for FedEx and Crown Relocations.

 

Sensei Marcel started learning martial arts at the age 4 out of necessity because he grew up in Tuaran, Sabah - where fights would constantly blow up in his village due to disputes and unresolved differences from the different tribes that lived in the area. He was exposed to Taekwondo and Silat Betawi at the age of 4. Growing up in the jungle, he also learnt hunting and jungle survival at a young age.

At age 7, he and his family moved to Hull in Yorkshire England and while attending school there, he was exposed to  Quarterstaff, Boxing, Wrestling, Sword Fighting and Archery. He returned to his home in Sabah at age 12. He started training Ninjutsu in 1997 and currently holds a 5th Dan black belt in Ninjutsu. Besides having a black belt in Ninjutsu, Sensei Marcel also has black belts in Taekwondo (WT), Kickboxing and Muay Thai. He is also proficient in many other martial arts such as Capoiera, Kali, Karate, Judo, Silat, Wing Chun, Mixed Martial Arts and Jeet Kune Do.

Besides teaching Ninjutsu, Sensei Marcel also teaches Parkour, football, swimming, kickboxing, taekwondo and self defense. Sensei Marcel also completed a course  is child psychology and teaching children with special needs, and is available for personal coaching if necessary.
